"With Eyes Closed"

When we asked my close friend, Skip Nallia, to participate in a jazz and blues concert as part of our July 26th, 2006 wedding ceremony, my fiance' Lisa and I both knew this was going to be a different sort of service. When torrential rains forced Skip to play solo, we knew something special was in the works.

"Skip can do it with his eyes closed." was the statement that my bride made after our wedding. Lisa was only partially joking when she made this pronouncement about Skip's skill on the piano. We both knew how good he is, but we also knew that he had poured his very soul into the music.

Days later, I was reminded of Lisa's comment when Skip said that "I just closed my eyes and let the spirit flow through me."


Now "With Eyes Closed" is available for sale. This CD, featuring "You Are My God" "Skip's Blues" "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" "Little Sunflower" and "Amazing Grace" is the complete live set that Skip played at the wedding. There are no studio tricks here, and editing is kept to a minimum to show the natural beauty of that comes when one of music's most talented people simply sits with eyes closed and lets the Spirit flow.
